About Us

I grew up painting alongside my grandmother, she was a well known Texas landscape artist and a pioneer in Plein Air painting. After she passed, I didn’t paint again until my youngest son begged to learn to paint in oils. We spent many hours painting together until he went off to college. As happens to many of us, life got in the way and I didn’t pick up my paint brush for years. Upon my retirement last year, I began painting full time.  - Lisa Fairbank

Plein Air

To look, to see, to understand, to capture – however imperfectly – is to be part of the land in a way like no other. (Jan Blencowe)

Studio Work

Plein-air paintings are life, and without them the rest of my work would die. Without it, I would have nothing to say in the studio, because without real-life experience, art is impossible. (Scott Burdick)
